At long last, after several years in design and construction, our new recording and mastering facility, Lord Baltimore Recordings, is now open. A full service recording, mixing and mastering facility in Baltimore, Lord Baltimore Recordings offers a best-of-both-worlds setting for digital and analog recording. Our array of high end gear will satisfy even the most serious studio technophile, but our pricing remains affordable for the independent musician. The goal of the studio is to provide an atmosphere for musicians to work both creatively and efficiently. Clients will notice right away that our studio’s look is both unique in flavor and ergonomic as a workspace.

Our formats include Digital via a Protools HD system with automated (flying fader) control surface, and Analog via a Sony APR24Machine (24 Track 2”) that is expertly maintained. We use Dynaudio BM15A Active Mastering Monitors as well as Yamaha NS10’s in our custom designed control room, complete with a floated hardwood/carpet hybrid floor that is ideal for comfort and sonics.

Bands recording here enjoy the convenience of easy individual monitor setup via our new Hearback Personal Monitor Mixer System, which allows everyone the freedom to hear exactly what they want while tracking. Our spacious main tracking room includes a large floating soundstage.

Our room construction combines specially soundproofed sheetrock and plaster surfaces with layers of treated vintage brick. Nearly 100% of the brick material is more than 120 years old, so the natural sound of the room reflection is warm. A variety of movable sonic panels make options for tracking versatile and convenient.

Besides feature analog gear like our Manley Massive Passive stereo EQ, and Manley vari-mu Tube Compressor, we have a variety of vintage amps, a great selection of microphones, and a vintage MCI JH636 console that has been completely reconditioned and re-capped (it was Ray Charles' demo board at one time, and sounds gorgeous).
